The Greek capital is a destination not to be missed! The cradle of Democracy and so much more, Athens stands as an emblem of Civilisation.
The visit takes place in the afternoon and evening, allowing you to fully enjoy the city, avoiding the mid-day rush hours and crowds. Starting point is Acropolis museum from15:15 until +/- 17:00.
Follows the discovery of the “hidden” neighbourhood of Anafiotika, famous for its narrow alleys and blue-windowed houses, reminiscent of the Cyclades islands’ villages!
Next place is the neighbourhood of Plaka, which merges the old with the new in a truly magical atmosphere! The perfect place to enjoy a selection of traditional dishes, at a typical “taverna”.
After dinner, there is a night walk through the charms of the city of goddess Athena. The city is filled with splendours, just waiting to be uncovered!
Before returning to the bus which will take you back to the hotel, you will have a chance to witness the Change of Guard, at the front of the Greek Parliament. The Euzones, traditionally dressed as the soldiers of 1821’s Greek War of Independence, watch over the Parliament and the monument of the Unknown Soldier.
The final step of our excursion will be the summit of Lycabettus Hill, the highest point in Athens offering you a panoramic view of the capital.
